Although, I hope Sophie Kinsella will include more and more moments with Luke and Becky in this novel hahaha.

Sophie Kinsella's writing style is funny, down-to-earth, light hearted and with characters that are utterly believable.

I love Luke and his character, the way he can mostly bring Becky back to earth but also trust her and care for her despite her mistakes. They mean they applied for jobs at The Times and The Express and Marie-Claire and Vogue and GQ, and all they got back was “Piss off. I think it's hilarious that these books dominate the "chick-lit" scene when they are, in fact, the most sexist books I've managed to come across.

If I ever read another review of a book like this on how "sad it was beneath the surface" all I have to say is how sad you are beneath the surface. Sophie Kinsella has brilliantly tapped into our collective consumer conscience to deliver a novel of our times–and a heroine who grows stronger every time she weakens. She stuffs things into trucks, she keeps the letters in a drawer she never opens, anything to avoid the fact that she's got bills to pay. There will always be a sexy, successful, intelligent, no-bullshit kind of guy who will find your stupidity and poor impulse control endearing. All I can tell you is that unless you, yourself, are ignorant, incredibly stupid, deceitful, materialistic, dishonest, and rude.

I went into this book expecting it to be just like the movie (which, by the way I love), but it might as well have been a completely different story. Sophie has also written seven standalone novels which have all been bestsellers in the UK, USA and other countries around the world: Can You Keep A Secret? Speaking of which her over stimulated Visa card almost becomes a character of its own here, and her bank manager eventually does with the inclusion of hilarious letters from Endwich Bank and the ever inventive ways Becky finds to not pay her Visa bill or in most cases ever even receive it.Becky, to me, is a spunky heroine, and I just ate up these first few series installments (later on in the series, her antics became too intolerable for me - around book IV or V). What I really disliked about this book, though, was that Becky's rehabilitation was just too darn easy.
